Early Childhood Development
Course Overview
In early childhood the brain is developing key circuits and capacity for abilities such as self-regulation, relationship building and executive function. These form the foundation for all development, both for individual children and even society, affecting lifelong health and wellness. Toxic stress, adversity, and a lack of responsive relationships damage the brain and have lifelong effects. That is, healthy development builds a strong foundation for kids and society.
